EMC on Monday said it have acquired privately held Infra, a supplier of IT service direction software. Financial inside information were not disclosed.
EMC, a shaper of information storage technology, said the acquisition suits into its scheme of providing software system to automate information centre operations. Infra supplies Web-based technology that tin pull off the lifecycle of IT services.
EMC said the acquisition is not expected to have got a stuff impact on this year's grosses or earnings.
The integrating of Infra engineering with EMC's substructure direction software system is expected to ran into client demand for better tools for managing virtualization and Web-based technologies in the information center. "The combination of Infra's service direction and EMC's existent substructure direction capablenesses presents practical and advanced solutions for today's IT service bringing challenges," Chris Gahagan, EMC senior VP of resource direction software,
Infra's software, called InfraEnterprise, includes a software system system system service desk with incident, problem, change, configuration, release, service degree and handiness direction processes. In addition, the software system includes a workflow engine.
The acquisition is expected to supply Infra with the fiscal and engineering resources needed to spread out its merchandise line. The company will go a portion of EMC's resource direction software system concern unit. Andy Wade, managing manager of Infra, will go on to take the InfraEnterprise squad and study directly to Gahagan.
